Having a baby is a beautiful miracle, and that’s why doing almost anything to protect that miracle is necessary. When you’re on an outing, you must ensure their safety if you’re carrying them around. Not forgetting, having them with only your arms might get tiring. Of course, you could take advantage of a stroller, but what if you’re trekking or perhaps shopping somewhere strollers aren’t allowed? The answer is simple!!
A baby carrier may be the item that every mom must have in their nurseries or closets. Why exactly? The thing is a baby carrier straps either to your back or maybe your chest, allowing the infant to sit in it firmly. Now this leaves you with absolutely free hands to do what you should. There are hundreds of different kinds from which you can order a baby carrier online. If you purchase online, you can weigh all the options and features in a single place.
Many baby carriers are similar to more sturdy backpacks, but they’re heavy too. More popular types strap to the chest with Velcro and keep the baby upright. There are also baby carriers that are like slings. First, you wrap the infant in it and after that, wrap it all over yourself. They’re ideal for moms who wish to feel close to their babies. There are so many variations available on the market, small and big.
Carriers for Toddlers vs. Carriers for Newborns
Newborns: These carriers are ready for your little one as soon as they are born, without the use of an extra infant insert. However, your baby will most likely outgrow these picks sometime between 12 and 15 months old, so think about how long you plan on carrying a baby when deciding on these.
Toddlers: Other carriers will work with your child from birth through the toddler stage. These often allow you to carry a baby in many versatile positions. However, these carriers usually require an infant insert to be used with newborns.
The Ready-to-Wear Wrap
WHY DO WE LOVE IT
The Baby K’tan has the advantages of a wrap, without having to do any wrapping. Crafted from 100 % cotton (along with some stretch!), this soft baby carrier keeps your little ones close and cozy. The double-loop layout evenly distributes body weight across the shoulders and back in any holding position. Even better, there isn’t a formidable number of fabric to figure out-it goes on just like a T-shirt in three simple steps. The included sash adds additional support and does double duty like a carrier storage bag.
KEEP IN MIND
The K’tan is available in sizes starting from 0-24, so you’re able to find the best fit for your body. However, the bad thing is you can’t share it with a caregiver that isn’t your size. Also, a few parents say the materials turn into a little too stretchy (but return to normal right after it’s a wash), so you may need to go down a size to ensure a snug fit.
WHAT PARENTS SAY
“Baby K’tan is very simple to use, and my baby feels snug and cozy. Despite having a newborn with the ‘Kangaroo’ position, it’s simple to use. Nonetheless that my girl is becoming heavier, I feel that its support is great, and there’s minimal stress on my back.” -Nirvana

The Starter Carrier
WHY DO WE LOVE IT
The BabyBjorn Original is ideal for parents who would like an instant, secure solution to carry their baby during the early days (it just takes a couple of buckles compared to more intricate wraps). It’s easy to get babies in and out even when they have fallen asleep on the go. Additionally, it’s light enough to add to your baby bag or store it within the stroller basket.
KEEP IN MIND
This carrier is made for newborns up to around six months. So a more significant size baby may outgrow it earlier than you’d like. Some point out that no hips belt results in back and shoulder stress when wearing it for far too long. Alternatively, many dads and moms like the simplicity of no more than having shoulder straps. (FYI: the BabyBjorn Miracle features a waist strap that is more supportive for longer excursions.) The Original allows infants to face in or out in a front-carry position. If you want back-carrying alternatives, the BabyBjorn One is your best bet.
WHAT PARENTS SAY
“I like the Bjorn, the best one. It’s fast to use and way less bulky than my some other carriers.” -Mel.
“The BabyBjorn Original is best! Very easy to use. Very few bells and whistles, but it’s easier for first-time parents to determine.”

Carriers for Older Babies
The Any-Weather Carrier
WHY DO WE LOVE IT
One carrier that’s designed for ultimate comfort in any weather? Yes, please. The unique back panel gives you more control of your baby’s temperature—keep it zipped up for warmth or unzip to expose breathable 3D mesh. Aside from six carrying positions, it will last until your baby is well into toddlerhood, thanks to the 45-pound weight limit. Parents also rave about the top-notch lumbar support, adjustable hood for added neck support, and the ease of sharing between parents.
KEEP IN MIND
This carrier has a wider seat than most, which improves weight distribution and comes in handy (for both of you!) as your kiddo grows. However, it also has a longer torso, which may not be the best fit for little grownups.
WHAT PARENTS SAY
“The Lillebaby complete is amazing. I love the lumbar support, the head support for the baby, the fact that you don’t need an infant insert and that it grows with your child. It’s easy to adjust between people wearing baby as well. Love it.” -Lauren

The Ergobaby Support System
WHY DO WE LOVE IT
From baby to toddler, the hip-healthy ergonomic design of the Ergobaby 360 keeps your kiddo seated in a natural “M” position, whether they’re facing in, out, on your back, or hip. Parents credit the padded shoulder straps and a wide waistband to provide unrivaled lower back support and prevent pain (which is extra important post-delivery or c-section). Another perk: this versatile carrier easily adjusts to sharing with a partner.
KEEP IN MIND
The 360 is designed for babies 12-33 pounds. So you’ll need to purchase the infant insert separately to carry your newborn. Also, the insert can make babies a bit hot in warmer weather, so be sure to go light on the layers. (FYI: Ergobaby’s Omni 360 can be used starting at seven pounds, without an insert. And if you’re looking for a carrier with more breathable, lightweight fabric, try the 360 Cool Air Mesh.) And while some parents say it’s a breeze to buckle, others think it’s a two-person job.
Parents also wish there was a pocket for holding the essentials, an excellent feature on the Ergobaby Original. However, while you’ve got a place to put your keys on the Original, you can’t face your baby forward. Decisions, decisions…
WHAT PARENTS SAY
“Love it, and so does our baby! The infant insert is comfortable for both parent and baby while providing good back support, even to a postpartum mom.” -Kaitlyn

Twin Baby Carriers
So far, I have only come across a few manufacturers of twin baby carriers and wraps/slings/hammocks, etc. These clever widgets allow you to hold two babies simultaneously while keeping your hands free (a.k.a. twin babywearing). An excellent option when twins are very young, and you don’t want to pack up the double stroller or want to keep your babies close.
They can be worn in varying positions and may even be utilized at home for toting your babies while doing other tasks (like vacuuming!).
Please read below about specific features and product links of our chosen two products. And keep in mind that this is for informational purposes only.
The Twingaroo Twin Baby Carrier
The Twingaroo Baby Carrier and Diaper Bag Combo just came out in 2015. It’s by the same manufacturer of the TwinTrexx, so you know the quality and design are top-notch. It’s one of our favorite twin baby carriers on the market and has also been awarded our prestigious Twin Mom Seal of Approval.
What could be better for parents to toting two babies around? A diaper bag included! It boasts a carrier for each twin and a small handy diaper bag all in one gadget. Great for getting around with the essentials. It’s adjustable to accommodate most adults. It is available in a variety of colors and patterns. Additionally, there are helpful videos to see it in action.
TwinGo Original Baby Carrier
This twin baby carrier arrived on the scene in 2011 and now has an original version as Twingo Original. It was invented by a mother of twins and offered some helpful configurations for babies from 7 to 25 pounds. It can be used front to back, side to side, or as a single carrier for each parent or caregiver. It’s cushioned in all the right places for maximum comfort, and the external pockets offer easy storage. In addition, the Twingo Original is easy to put on and take off.
There is a lite version of Twingo; you can check it here.
Choosing What’s Right for You
When selecting a baby carrier, keep a few things in mind. The very first and most crucial factor is relaxation. Will the carrier be comfy not just for your little one also for you? You may be using it for several hours a day. Also, does it need to comply with fit another caregiver? If that’s the case, ensure the carrier you decide on can hold a wearer of a different size. Finally, do you need a carrier specially designed for the baby stage or one that may work for toddlers too? The more your kids weigh, the more back support you require, and you’ll have to make sure to get a carrier that can accommodate a better weight. Once you find the best match, though, you’ll join the ranks of those that love cuddling with their infant and still have things done.
